We formed in 2021 as a community enterprise to allow local parents to be employed supplying school lunches to our local schools. Today Nourish Oraka Limited is a registered charity turning rescue food from Kairos into snacks for local activities and meals for all kinds of people. Our purpose is to

• provide training and employment opportunities in the Te Oraka / Shirley community,

• make affordable, nutritious kai for accessible for Te Oraka / Shirley residents, and others in need due to low income, isolation and health problems,

• build and strengthen connections between people living within the Te Oraka / Shirley community, and

• activate and revitalise the Acheson Avenue / MacFarlane Park neighbourhood through provision of a Community Kitchen which can be used by other local groups and enterprises, and other facilities as may further the above purposes.
